What happens in Sandplay
THERAPUTIC
I have seen clients come to resolution of an issue through a series of sandplays, such that they can more effectively navigate their life path, finding truth and meaning. Identity can be revealed through symbol and metaphor, images and dreams, archetypes and myths.
MINDFUL
Sandplay is a creative and mindful practice – the art of paying attention to the present moment. When one is engaged in the process of creating, it is a form of mindfulness. As we de-stress, imagine and create, we release feel-good hormones and change the neuro-circuitry of the central nervous system. This allows us to harness the strength and personal space to overcome physical, mental, emotional and spiritual anguish.
